Welcome, friends. This is a space where we explore together nervous system healing and regulation.
Our exercises are deeply rooted in the Somatic Experiencing method developed by Peter Levine.
If you came here for a magic pill, note that these practices are not quick fixes.
The journey you are about to embark in is one of commitment to yourself and to your healing in a gentle way on the long run. That is why we are here to support you all the way, not through a fix of something that is broken, but through a lifetime transformation.
Unhealed trauma is stored in our bodies. We experience this somatically in the form of sensations, behaviors, emotions, feelings, thoughts and sometimes even chronic pain and disease.
Entire identities, beliefs and cultural biases are created out of traumatic responses of protection against real threats or perceived threats from our past.
Part of our brain gets activated under real or perceived danger and gets stuck as a way of protecting us and ensure our survival.
Our Autonomic Nervous System is this incredible protective part within us that supports us being safe. This is felt by spending most of our time in Sympathetic Nervous System or our Dorsal Vagal Complex (Parasympathetic Nervous System), meaning we are either stuck in fight/ flight or freeze/ collapse for long periods of time, sometimes even since childhood.
Many people think they are alone in this, but a dysregulated nervous system is incredibly common in our western society and with mainstream lifestyle encouraging efficiency and isolation. Our nervous system is still wired to live within a nurturing community or tribe. Yet, it has become the norm for us to live alone in isolated cubicles in overcrowded concrete jungles.
Traumatic stress stuck in our bodies is the main cause of unhappiness and struggles in our relationships with our loved ones or in our professional life.

SAFE uses somatic practices in a simple yet effective way for a deeper sense of inner awareness to find safety within yourself and recover from stress and trauma.
